Why is a way to encourage members of FBC to be involved in evangelism by taking opportunities to serve people in our community on a consistent basis who may not be expecting it.


What is

Many people are reluctant to approach a stranger and begin to share their faith. seeks to overcome this through demonstrating God’s love in a practical way where Christians will have an opportunity to help people know that God loves them and our church is concerned about them. Our culture is accustomed to church being on TV, radio, and on Sundays, but when we demonstrate God’s love in a practical way, it will have an effect.

“…Christ Jesus: Who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant…” Philippians 2:6-7


Biblical Examples of

Scripture is full of examples concerning Jesus modeling servanthood and kindness in his evangelistic ministry. Jesus healed many, fed thousands who were hungry, raised the dead to life, and washed His own disciples’ feet. His disciples learned these lessons well and were servants throughout their ministries.


City of Midland Application

The opportunity of is to engage members in sharing Christ with people on a consistent basis through the Sunday School. Each Sunday School Department will be involved with two projects during each year. ServFests will be church wide opportunities for service to our community on several Saturdays. is a unique opportunity to come in contact with people and introduce them to the love of Christ in a practical way.
